The fastest way to determine an existing circuit breaker is through the circuit breaker Catalog Number (or part number) found on the nameplate.

If nameplate data is faded or unavailable (older vintage Westinghouse and ITE Molded Case Circuit Breakers are notorious for having time worn nameplate data), the Manufacturer’s Name (from the breaker or panel), Type (Ex. J Type, ML Type), Ampere Rating and any Physical Dimensions of the existing breaker would be key factors in determining a suitable breaker replacement.

Still need help?

Any information you can provide as to what the existing circuit breaker is would be helpful in determining a proper circuit breaker replacement. A picture of the circuit breaker is always helpful.

Send your picture and/or identifying information to techsupport@swgr.com. Please remember to provide your name, company name and phone number in the email.
