What is an oil circuit breaker?
An oil circuit breaker uses oil as the main dielectric for the contacts. They are similar to air breakers, but arc quenching is achieved in an oil bath instead of in air.

Are reconditioned oil circuit breakers any good?
Yes, they are maintained and sold only if they pass MIDWEST’s strict testing procedures. Retrofitting the trip unit means that electrical power protection is as good as new units.

What is a retrofit kit?
A retrofit kit is designed to replace and update circuit protection functions. Generally, a retrofit kit includes new CT’s to ensure accurate current monitoring. A new solid state trip unit can contain different combinations of Instantaneous, Short Time, Long Time, and Ground Fault Protection.
